It is usually the persistent pain, which can often only be influenced medically to a limited extent, that can also benefit positively from the autogenous - i.e. self-initiated - possibilities of directing attention. Because affected people lose consciousness of their physical well-being in their suffering.
But it is precisely with this, i.e. the reflection on physical well-being, which is present and noticeable somewhere in the body even with severe pain, that the focus of perception can be reversed in a relaxing way! This then leads to a subjective improvement in well-being without side effects as health coaching and as a supplement to medical measures.
